My company's server blocks me from using PayPal. What should I do?
Call us at (888) 802-1478. We can typically process the card on PayPal's "Virtual Terminal" without any problem. Please do not send credit card information via email.
Are classes live, in a classroom, with an instructor?
Yes. You will be studying with an experienced instructor, with other students in a classroom setting. We also offer instructor-led virtual classes, but the classes on this page are live, in person, on location.
Is there a pass guarantee?
Yes. If you do not pass your exam, fax us the proctor sheet from the testing center. Our fax number is (918) 496-1720. You may then re-enroll in any other class for the same series, whether classroom or virtual, for up to a year after your enrollment date.
My schedule has changed and I can’t go to the class. May I change the date?
We make every effort to accommodate you if your schedule changes. Typically we can get your date changed. Please make an effort to notify us before class starts. We understand and try to accommodate emergencies, illnesses, etc., but it’s just easier if we know ahead of time.
How much study time should I put in before class?
You should spend at least 40 hours studying before class. Many students spend up to 60 hours. Class is fast-paced and requires that you know the terminology and have a basic understanding of the products and topics to be covered.
What is your refund policy?
If you notify Series 7 Specialists that you will be unable to attend classes before the class starts, we will refund your entire tuition, less the shipping costs. If you enrolled in a class with textbooks, or in a Series 7 class, you will need to return materials in saleable condition (i.e., shrink wrapped for textbooks and unopened, unmarked and undamaged for Option Talk) to receive a full refund. You will be provided shipping instructions. Be sure to ship via a method which allows for delivery confirmation. Refunds are issued as soon as possible after notification and/or receipt of materials. Unfortunately, if a class has started, no refund can be issued, whether you have attended class or not. Be certain to notify Series 7 Specialists of your intention to not attend class by the business day before class starts.
Does everything get covered in the classroom?
Yes and no. With regard to the Series 65 and 66, yes. But some of the lightly tested modules on the Series 7 (for instance, retirement plans, which consumes two classroom hours for 4-5 questions) have been put online. These modules are assigned as homework to be completed in the evening, with reviews the following day. Taking these units out of the live class opened up more classroom time for the heavily tested topics, such as options and municipals.
My full textbook set hasn’t arrived. All I have it Option Talk. Is this all I get?
If you ordered the class with books, it is very typical for the Option Talk book to get to you sooner than the full textbook set. You will receive the full textbook set via UPS within a day or two.
What is Option Talk, anyway?
Option Talk helps you learn options step-by-step, in a conversational tone. It develops tools which you can use to consistently get correct answers on your practice exams. The methods are sometimes unconventional, but they were developed after years of helping students understand options. If you will just follow the steps described in the book, you will get correct answers on your options questions.
Which materials are good? Should I get a new set?
When you order materials from Series 7 Specialists, we provide Kaplan books. Other vendors such as Securities Training Corporation, Pass Perfect or Kier also provide excellent quality resources. Some materials are available in local bookstores, but the quality varies widely. If you do not have a practice exam set, you are often better off to buy the class with books. Because pricing for bundled products and services are lower than the sum of the components, you get better value from the package.
If I order the class without books, will I be able to follow along in class?
Yes. You will be provided a workbook which has screenshots of the Power Point outline and plenty of room to take notes. The workbook also has several practice exam questions on each topic. In the back, you will find summary sheets which are extremely helpful. You will also have access to other online resources which are provided along with the class.
Will I get a set of practice exams if I order the class without books?
No. THE QUESTION BANK IS PART OF THE BOOK SET. Therefore, you will NOT receive the CD or online Question Bank if you do not order books. Each night, homework is assigned, including answering questions from the QBank. Use your own CD or online question bank to do the homework. Bring your questions into class for discussion, even if they are from another vendor.
I have access to books, but not to a practice exam CD or online question bank. Should I still order the class without books?
Probably not. You really need access to practice exams, preferably on the computer. It is almost as economical to get the entire book and QBank set as it is to order the class and the QBank only. You also receive additional resources with the book and class package, and your book will be the newest edition. The bundled price is a much better value.
Do I need sponsorship to take the class or the test?
You don’t need a sponsor to take the class, but you do have to be employed by a broker-dealer to take the test. If you need sponsorship, check the resources on the Helpful Links page of this website.
Why can’t I enroll in Tulsa classes online?
Due to state regulations and arrangements with Tulsa Technology Center, all enrollments for Tulsa classes must be processed through Tulsa Tech. Call (918) 828-5453 for assistance.
